Attaching Ikea Cabinets To Each Other

My cabinets came pre assembled and i know to screw the units together before attaching them to my kitchen walls.

They were 2 brackets for hooking them together at the back and a strip of double sided tape for the front pix. Ikea forums warn not to use drills when attaching screws but unless you want to spend months on just the cabinet assembly i say use the drill. I use two clamps to squeeze the cabinet frames together. When attaching them to each other though should i be using construction adhesive as well or just screws. I then drill the screw pilot holes. I have some 1 1 4 deck screws on hand. It s stupid and it s pointless and anyone with common sense knows to distribute the nails throughout so that the back of the cabinet is attached evenly.

This blue floating wall unit in the picture was made by attaching two three door cabinets in 15 and 25 1 4 on top of each other. But i didn t like the attachment kit that came with the cabinets. If you have limited wall space you could instead build the besta cabinets vertically. I put a minimum of two screws in each one about 1 5 inches from the top and bottom of the face frame opening.

To attach them you use the double sided pads and metal clips provided in the besta package. Just don t screw it in too. And are there any particular screws i should be using. Attaching besta cabinets vertically.
