This one in 40 s w was tamed via weight size ergonomics and a smooth quick reseting single action trigger. The gun is no lightweight hitting the scale at 38 6 ounces unloaded. Baby desert eagle iii is a quality firearm which performed flawlessly the entire time i had it round after round. They also have a lower overall height than the polymer variants.

Out of the box it feels a bit heavy but it is a stout pistol that gives the immediate impression that it won t break when the going gets tough. There is also semi compact models which hold a few less rounds. They are offered in 9 mm and 45 auto as well as the 40. The steel framed pistols are the only ones currently being offered in 45 acp.

And that is the case with the baby desert eagle iii pistol now in 40sw. The steel framed pistols do weigh considerably more but have a thinner profile overall. The awkward slide mounted safety mars an otherwise stellar package. For much of my time with it i used blazer brass ammunition and am happy to report zero malfunctions.

It fits well within my hand and the 4 5 inch barrel helps to provide a little bit more weight up front.
